YELM FRESH...an emerging online farmers marketplace food hub

Our goal is to increase access to local safe organic food for our Yelm community and next door neighbors, supporting our already well-established Yelm Food Co-op and Yelm Farmers Market.  Strengthening our local food system is what we are up to.  

As we are becoming more aware, there is a strong sense of food insecurity.  Not only do we need to grow more food, we need to grow more farmers and create more food producers.  Our hope is this Yelm Fresh food hub can provide yet another and easy venue for our farmers, gardeners and food producers to sell their goods.

For those of you new to this project, the Yelm Fresh food hub software is a novel approach: an online farmers market designed to connect local farms, growers, ranchers and food producers with buyers while managing the logistics of getting fresh produce from farm to your table. 

After a year of experiencing the Yelm Fresh software and creating the foundation necessary to move forward, Susie, the inspiration behind this project, is excited to report that not only does she remain committed to bringing this project to fruition, but that all key administrative roles have been filled.

A big shout-out to Karla, Mari, Jennifer and Susie, our local producers who have worked with us in developing the website.  More producers will be invited in once we realize our current fundraising goal of $1428 for the 2025/26 software (a savings of $772 if paid by July 15), then we will begin our strategic planning, then fundraising for $2000 for on-boarding administrative staff.  Donations accepted in person, cash or check to Yelm Fresh, or GiveSendGo where you can use a card.  Thank you SO much!
