About Us
Susie's Food offers a brand line of local organic ready-to-eat foods that are absolutely delicious, nutrient dense, and oh so good for you too. Try our Garlic Basil Supersauce, Gourmet Veggie Burgers, Salads-in-a-Jar, Raw Veggie Mixes, Quinoa Salads, Protein Peanut Butter Bars and much more.
Susie started farming in 1996 at the age of 50 because she didn't want corporations making her food choices. Two years later she had an inspiration and became a farm activist working to protect farmland and our food supply ever since. Producing her healthy local-based food is now her activism and her mission. The level of integrity she brings to the quality of ingredients is unmatched.
Grateful beyond words, Susie looks very forward to doing her part to making America healthy again. She is from the last generation before fast food came on the scene with the first McDonald's coming to her town in Ohio when she was still in high school. She grew up with her family eating dinner together every night around the dinner table, making all of their food from scratch, a lost art for some today and one that she hopes to help restore. In the meantime, she is happy to cook for you.

Practices
SOURCING: We source high quality ingredients from local farmers and Susie's own kitchen garden first, then from organic wholesale companies in Portland and Dufur, Oregon with great values.
NOTE: Let us know if you're interested in being on our Research Committee as we endeavor to know exactly what is in our food.
PACKAGING: We package products in healthy containers such as glass, paper and cardboard cartons, minimizing plastic whenever possible.
NOTE: Managing jars is very labor intensive compared to throw-away plastic containers, but is our commitment to minimizing waste and exposure to plastics. You can do your part by returning jars, clean and dry with lids. We're exploring having a jar deposit or some other system.
SEED OILS: You will NOT find Seed Oils in our products. If you don't know the dangers of Seed Oils we encourage you to do your research until we create a data base to communicate this kind of information. They are everywhere and have the appearance of being innocent while being very detrimental to our health.
MINIMIZING MILES TRAVELED: Twenty years ago I envisioned a product label that identified not only the miles traveled but also identifying each grower of each vegetable/ingredient like milk. I was ahead of the times. Maybe this is the time.
